Typically our sessions last for a 1-hour period.  Longer sessions may be necessary for bookings with more than two children.

Should you need to re-schedule the appointment, please provide 24 hours notice. 

Clothes with patterns, text or busy artwork on them tend to detract from the child.  Therefore bold, single coloured or black and white clothes help to achieve the best images.

Prior to your session our photographer will discuss your expectations for the photographs.  E.g. candid, semi-formal or formal.

• Candid:  Children will be invited to play on playground equipment and/or with toys, bikes etc. with parents and siblings (if requested) and will be photographed unobtrusively.
• Semi-formal:  A combination of staged and candid photographs.
• Formal:  Posed photographs in the Fingerprints Photography studio or on location.

Feel free to bring along any favourite toy, book or hobby to be included in the photographs and to help your child feel at ease.

Photographs may be taken in our studio or garden (includes playground equipment), your home or on location (e.g. local park/playground, beach etc.)

Within 7 days of the session you will be able to view the proofs.

Typically a 1-hour session of one or two children will result in approximately 40 proofs.

Allow 45 minute to an hour to review the proofs with our photographer.

You will be provided with an index sheet to take home to help you select photographs for your order.

We recommend framing your prints and can provide a selection of frames with your order.

Allow 1 to 2 weeks for us to print and frame (framing may take longer at certain times of the year) your order to your specifications.
